OLED StructureUnlike an LCD, an OLED (Organic Light Emitting Diode) display needs no backlight and thus can be thinner and lighter. Since there is no backlight, OLED's also eliminate the need for inverters (needed for CCFL-based displays) or LED driver circuitry (for LED-based displays). In addition, OLEDs offer very high contrast, a much wider viewing angle, a wider temperature range, and much faster response times. OLED displays are also more power efficient than conventional LCD displays, reducing battery requirements.
